In 2003 Harley-Davidson was awarded the PDMA Outstanding Corporate Innovator award for their product development process reflecting years of consistent delivery of outstanding products. Three years later, after applying Lean principles to the Product Development process, Harley-Davidson realized a 4 times improvement of process through put and had cut delivery time in half with a "Knowledge Based Product Development process". In this presentation Dantar will discuss the learning process that resulted in changes to the development process; in turn enabling this improvement. Dantar will also discuss how these same techniques are now also being applied at Sara Lee with similar impact as seen at Harley-Davidson.
