Lean Product Development Flow is a method for organizing product development workload which mimics a maximally efficient manufacturing line. With this approach, product development teams organize their work into periods of concurrent work that alternate with comprehensive integration events. Demonstrated benefits include significantly lower overall cost, shorter program time and better morale among the members of the PD team. While this approach to product development is especially applicable for creating derivative products from existing product platforms or incremental product improvements, its lessons can be applied in any product development organization that needs to organize development work more efficiently.
