Jeff Hastie – Lean Thinking in Innovation

How would your organization benefit from rapid innovation of new products that solve customers’ problems? In this session Jeffrey Hastie tells the story of how Bose Lean journey started and expanded over time. How the research organization was challenged to increase speed and innovation targeting customer problems to be solved. He will describe the process that Bose piloted and then expanded that increased innovation speed and customer value.

Bio: Jeff Hastie

Jeffrey Hastie is the President at Learn-Apply-Lead, LLC and the former Global Director, Lean Enterprise at Bose Corporation. During his 19 years at Bose he led Lean Six Sigma programs in Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, Product Development, Research and Corporate Administration including IS, HR, Finance and Legal. He was the thought Leader and coach for the Enterprise wide deployment of Lean Enterprise for the Company and is credited for building Lean thinking and Structured Problem Solving as a cultural norm at Bose Corporation.

Prior to Bose, Jeff was employed at Wyman-Gordon Company, producers of technically advanced structural and engine components for the Aerospace Industry. Over his 19 years at Wyman-Gordon, he held a variety of leadership roles in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement. 

Jeff has over 40 years of Manufacturing and Operational Excellence experience in the Wood Products, Metal Working, Aerospace Forging and Consumer Electronics Industries. He has spent the last 25 years dedicated to leading Enterprise wide programs to accelerate business value. 

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wood Products Engineering from the State University of New York. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
